Qualcomm Carbon Core Brawl (QCCB or CCB) is a small online, up to 4 players, brawl based fighting game developed to showcase Qualcomm's new Snapdragon Direct X capabilities using Unreal Engine back in 2022.
I was tasked with designing and Implementing the all if the UI, first creating mockups by following wireframes, exporting the final individual assets, and implementing and programming those the final designs into Unreal Engine's Unreal Motion Graphics (UMG).
I had the honor of working with Qualcomm's Art Director at Snapdragon Game Studio.
We Also had to upgrade the project from Unreal Engine 4 to 5. Luckily we all ad previous experience and knew a lot of what needed to be fixed/changed.
The project also made use of Epic Online Services (EOS) which was used to track the progress of players, unlock achievements and display leaderboards.
The team and I had a lot of fun with this project (except having to clean up old Blueprint scripts). It was an extremely short and tight 3 month project, so we had to focus on main requirements and couldn't make thing too fancy, however the team was able to finish early and work on a few stretch goals.
